Golden Arch


The "Golden Arch" also known as the Biliran Bridge, connects the main Biliran Island to the Island of Leyte.

The photo is taken from the port of the town of Biliran in Biliran Province and shows the clear and clean waters of the Biliran straight.

The small floating cottages are serves as shed for interested visitors who wants to relax while savoring the beauty of the seascape and the surrounding landscape.

Higatangan Sandbar

The moving sandbar of Higatangan Island in the Municipality of Naval is a unique beauty that is incomparable with other sandbars in Region 8.

The sandbar changes its form and location depending on the wind direction and the tides.

The picture is taken from the tip of the sandbar with the main Higatangan Island on the background.

The island is very accessible from the Naval port and can be reached by boat by about 20-30 minutes.  Hotels and cottages are available in the island for visitors who wants to stay longer.

The island is supplied by Biliran electric cooperative, so power is available.

Sambawan Island

The beautiful Sambawan Island is part of the municipality of Maripipi in Biliran Province.

The picture is taken from the peak of the hill within the island which can be easily riched by hiking. On the background is the dormant volcanic island of Maripipi that adds beauty to the horizon. The waters around Sambawan is clear blue and very good for snorkeling or diving. It is rich in marine life that will fascinate you with the beauty of the corals and the life thriving on them.

The island can be reached via Kawayan town from the main Biliran Island or from Maripipi Island.

Biri rock formation

Northern Samar has a secret beauty waiting to be explored. One of these is Biri Island found on northwest part of Northern Samar floating on the San Bernardino Strait. Biri is known for its unusual rock formation that would make you feel how awesome the works of God really is.

Admire the clear blue sea as you explore the rocks, climb on its walls, and play like one of the rock creatures.

Going there is easier than you thought. The first access route is by land. Buses and planes are available from Manila to Catarman, Northern Samar's capital (Please check service providers for schedules) . If you are from Cebu you can have a plane ride to Tacloban then van or bus to Catarman. Cebu visitors can also use fast craft to Ormoc then van from Ormoc to Tacloban then Catarman. The trip would be longer but more exciting.
