Naval Spring Resort

The Easter Sunday was a hectic day for Christians. Besides it was also a time for bonding and outings.

The EVTP team visited another beautiful resort in Naval, Biliran Province. This time it is in a spring pool located on a mountainside of the Barangay Lucsoon about 5 kilometers from the town via the cross country road. The location is at considerable elevation from sea which make it overlooking the Calubian Strait. The opposite side is dotted with beautiful rice terraces and the wind adds up to the cool ambiance.

The resort has cottages for guests at very affordable price and food items inside the bar are sold with the same prices as convenience stores outside. The continuously flowing spring water makes the two pools cool and fresh at all times.

It is a very nice place to visit, you won't regret it I promise.

San Bernardino Pool

The San Bernardino Swimming Pool in Brgy. Manlabang, Caibiran, Biliran Province is another beauty of nature. Although it looks old in the outside, as it is convered by huge trees and volcanic rocks, the water is always fresh flowing directly from under the big boulders sorrounding the place.

The resort was once a favorite destination during summer in the locality and the nearby villages. People from other towns speak of the place to be captivating with the cold sorrounding even in the hot summer days. But, as we took a short tour of the area early on March we found out there was something needed to revive the beauty.

We felt Mother Earth's aura was really there with the cool and calm sorrounding but twigs and vines creep undaunted by unconcerned people who are supposed to maintain the invigorating scene. The rocks are full of moss and and green algae grow as if nobody cared. The nearby rocky streams are becoming a regular laundry place for the people destorying the freshness of the water that is its greatest asset.

I purposely posted this short call in here to give notice to nature lover Caibiranons or Filipinos generally to why not take a look, pour a little investment, and rebuild the place.

Developing Resort to Watch

While doing some environmental scanning in the Island Province of Biliran, popularly known in the region as an Island Paradise, we came across a small beach resort still being developed. It is located in Brgy Bunga in the town of Cabucgayan some 32 kilometers from the provincial capital of Naval.

The local people called the place Ardian Beach Resort, perhaps in honor of someone who earlier developed the shore area as a beautiful place for picnic. Today it is being maintained and further enhanced by the incumbent Vice Mayor, Hon. Gemma G. Adobo and her family.

Like most of the resorts in the island, the sand is fine, the water is clean and the ambiance is so relaxing. The panoramic view of the nearby shoreline and landscape of both the Island Paradise and the island of Leyte is a natural beauty. The small resort has a bar which you can have a drink of beer, local wines, and other spirits. It has a swimming pool for spring water under development.

Generally, the place is a nice hideaway from the busy urban life.

Agalon Beach Resort

Another site with rising popularity in Eastern Visayas, Philippines is the Baybayon ni Agalon Beach Resort in Albuera, Leyte. The place is a perfect nature trip with soothing ambiance of the forest and the sea merged together in beautifully landscaped area. It has complete facilities for live-in conference and for toursit relaxation.

Our visit to the place in December was a memorable experience. The cool waters of the pool and the warm touch of the calm seas were truly reverberating. We highly recommend the area for both local and foreign visitors.
